The Southampton Train Station has been in various states of disrepair despite efforts to restore and save it. The Station is located in Upper Southampton. These photos are from between 2007 and 2009 or perhaps a bit earlier.
The SEPTA Fox Chase – Newtown line stopped at County Line, Southampton, Churchville, The George School and Newtown. It carried freight and passengers.
Update -2020 – We stopped in for dinner on July 17th 2020. Seating was restricted. See below for details. The Iron Oven was formerly Kenny’s. We’ve eaten there several times and had a great meal and service each time.
The Beer Store in Southampton had become one of our favorite places for a quiet beer. Unfortunately, they have closed as of February 2020. The Franklin Mills and Malvern Locations remain open for now.
This guy has been a bit elusive. I found him in my back yard today and managed to grab a picture.
The old Southampton Train Station is really beginning to show signs of deterioration.
This was previously known as The General Davis. Now it is simply “The General”. It is a bar and grill in an old building with good food and service.
Sept 2019 – We visited for a delicious Italian Dinner. The food and service were excellent. Osteria Saporino is in our neighborhood but we overlooked it for a while.
The building that was once the Southampton Freight Station remains.
