A tour of Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Newton Borough and Township Collage

Newtown refers to Newtown Borough and Newtown Township. The borough is located inside the boundaries of the township.

Newtown Borough

Newtown Borough has some excellent restaurants.

One of our favorite restaurants is Isaac Newton’s which has great pub food and a small outside garden.

Newtown Township

Newtown Township is a Township in Newtown Pennsylvania. It surrounds Newtown Borough.

The township is home to Tyler State Park. The Schofield Covered Bridge is in the park. There are trails throughout the park as well as plenty of picturesque scenes such as the covered bridge. You can rent kayaks and other craft in season for trips up the Neshaminy Creek.

There are some good restaurants such as the Wycombe Publik House which is a little off the beaten track but worth a visit. Also in Wycombe, you will find the Wycombe Train Station which was a stop on the New Hope Railroad line. The station is no longer operational.

The Schofield Covered Bridge in Tyler Park

Tyler State Park has miles of paved trails. The Schofield Covered Bridge crosses the Neshaminy Creek on one of these trails. The bridge was a victim of arson in 1991 and rebuilt in 1997.  The bridge carries the Tyler Park bridle/hiking path over the Neshaminy Creek. Since it is not open to vehicles, you can park in the nearby parking lot and walk about 500 yards to the bridge.
