Baci’s menu has an emphasis on Northern Italian food. But it also offers American and an interesting selection of English food including Shepherds Pie, Bangers and Mash and Leek Pie. You can eat in the restaurant upstairs or the Heart of Oak pub downstairs.

There is a small bar upstairs. We made reservations beforehand and arrived about 6:15 on a Saturday. About half of the tables were empty. However, by the time we finished dinner, all of the tables were full. Reservations are a good idea and they will take reservations for parties of two.

We had visited about two years prior and had a great meal and decided to revisit them. When we visited previously. there were “Spaghetti Westerns” playing on the television screen in the bar. The waitress told us that the owner was a fan of Westerns. That is definitely something different.

Offerings range from a $34 Filet Mignon to an $11 burger.

They have an extensive beer list including bottles and draft.

The staff was friendly and attentive. We started out by splitting the Eggplant Rolatini appetizer. They brought it out on individual plates. The picture below does not do it justice. It was a great way to start the meal. We mopped up all the sauce with some of their Italian bread.

For the main course, I ordered the Shepherds Pie which happens to be a favorite for me. The portions looked a bit small until I dug in.  It was a traditional Shepherds Pie with meat, peas, onions, mashed potatoes and gravy.

Most of the tables were filled by the time we were half way through dinner. A guitarist was playing Italian/Spanish guitar music with some American tunes mixed in. There is a grand piano also.

For desert we opted to split a Creme Brulee. That was another good choice.

The bill came to just over $60 which, considering the atmosphere, food and service, was a great price.

Baci offers al fresco dining during the season as well as entertainment in the pub. For details, see their website.
