Welcome Day 2004Welcome day is an annual event hosted by the Newtown Business and Professional Association. This year, it was held on State Street on May 15th. Most of the pictures below were taken before the official opening and therefore before the arrival of the crowds. Estimates of attendance at this event range from 5,000 to 8,000 people. Local businesses sponsor amusements and entertainment. There were 4 separate stages with musicians of every genre. Local artists displayed their photographs, paintings and sculpture.
