The Brick Hotel has a long and colorful
history. It is located in the heart of historic Newtown at the intersection
of State Street and Washington Avenue. Seating is available al fresco in a
garden in the front of the building. You can also eat in the dining room or
on the enclosed wrap around porch.
We opted for the porch. The porch is
enclosed with plate glass from the floor to the ceiling giving you a view of
the garden terrace dining.
For lunch I ordered the Prosciutto Chicken
Sandwich. It is Prosciutto wrapped chicken breast served with
bruschetta, tomato jus, & melted mozzarella, served with parmesan
fries for $10. For desert I had a sabayon (a cross between custard and
mousse) in a chocolate shell. That was absolutely delicious.
On street parking is metered. The Brick
Hotel has it's own parking lot with an entrance on Washington Avenue.
The service was friendly and attentive.

The Brick Hotel is a beautiful, large white
colonial building with green shutters and green striped awnings. It is
surrounded by Victorian gardens.
I started with broccoli and cheddar soup with cumin and
cream. Afterwards, I had an apple, pear and bleu cheese salad which had
mesculun greens, spiced walnuts and crumbled bleu cheese with a maple walnut
dressing.
For desert I had a mocha sabayon in a chocolate shell
