The Logan Inn is 'one of the oldest
continuously operating Inns in the country" The place is a real treasure. It
was recently renovated (about 2000). The Inn has a parking lot which is a
real necessity in New Hope. Be sure to get your ticket validated.
The front desk is typical of the old time
hotels. There is a cozy little sitting area. The bar is one of the oldest
parts of the building. If you get a chance, check the enclosed porch on the
parking lot side. When they were doing the renovations, they found an old
cistern which is on display.
We ate Thanksgiving dinner in the enclosed
porch. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. They are kid
friendly as well. The desert spread was out of this world. It's a month
later and I'm still working off those calories but it was well worth it.
If you go you might want to leave time to
stroll through the various shops in New Hope. |
"The Logan Inn was originally established as a Tavern by
New Hope founder John Wells in 1727” It’s a lovely
colonial building with several dining rooms and the original tavern and also
rooms for an overnight stay.
We went for the Thanksgiving Day Dinner, as you walk in
the front desk is on the right with a sitting room with antiques and a
fireplace ablaze.
The buffet had the usual Thanksgiving trimmings such as
Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Salmon, Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn
pudding etc. Afterwards there was a table full of desserts. In the summer
you may eat alfresco. |
