Lilly’s is right in the heart of Doylestown. We stopped in for a late lunch. It is set up in a deli fashion with about a dozen tables. They are working on expanding the seating.

I ordered the Perry Mason ($6.25)  which is a panini with a marinated chicken breast,  Imported Provolone, Spinach Leaves, bacon and a honey mustard sauce on two large slices of hearty panella bread. I also ordered a Turkey and Asparagus Quiche with a salad ($6.25)  and a peanut butter pie for desert (about $3). Let’s just say the portions are very generous. We ended up taking a lot of the food home for the next day. The sandwich was delicious. I also enjoyed the quiche and salad. The peanut butter pie was very rich, even for me. Don’t let the apparent size fool you. Two people  could easily split one of these pies. You can help yourself to free coffee refills.

You order at the counter and take your meal to one of their tables. You are right at the courthouse so you get a great view of a wide assortment of people. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic. The décor includes rustic poles, a small moose rack and lights with shades made from various colanders.  The door handle is an oversized wire whisk.

Parking is available on the street and in various municipal lots. The lot across from the court house is free if you can find a spot there. Otherwise you can park on the street with a two hour maximum. Most of the parking is metered during the day.

If you go there are plenty of shops in downtown Doylestown that are worth visiting.

Lilly’s Gourmet is a small café in the center of the colonial town of Doylestown. Rows of red tulips line the widow sills. The quirky décor had colanders as chandeliers and canoes hanging form the ceiling. The bar stool area had magazines such as Gourmet and Architectural digest for diners to peruse.

For lunch, I chose the three salad plate. It had lentil, spinach, and pomegranate, chicken tarragon and fresh fruit – you could choose the salads from a large selection– they were served over baby greens. French bread was on the side.

For dessert, I had a lemon square. Everything was delicious. Afterwards, feel free to stroll the architectural gem of Doylestown
