King George II Inn

The King George the second in is the oldest continuously operating in in the United States.  It dates back to the 1600's.  While they don't offer Trainson and lodging, they do have a number of residents on six month lease is in the old hotel rooms.

We stopped in on a Sunday evening after showing of "the trial of Ebenezer scrooge" at the Bristol Riverside Theater.  Fortunately we were able to be seated immediately even though we do not have reservations.

There is a small or dining room on the first floor with an excellent few of the riverfront and Delaware river.  There's an adjoining the lounge that does allow smoking.  We asked for seating upstairs and were promptly seated at a table with large windows again overlooking the river front and river.

The service was excellent and the restaurant is kid friendly.  They offer a variety of kids meals such as the standard chicken fingers and pasta.  I opted for the lobster ravioli with crab meat and artichokes.  It was excellent.  For dessert I tried the "downfall of King George" this is the large warmed brownie with ice cream, whipped cream and caramel sauce.  The waitress warned this data was large so I split with our son.  A half portion satisfied even my appetite for a good dessert.  In addition to the dessert menu they have a selection of desert winds such as Sherry's.

The end has several dining rooms ranging from a small room suitable for small parties to large banquet rooms.  Only the port rooms have a riverfront view.

They offer an early bird special and Sunday brunch.

Metered parking is available on the street or you can park at the municipal parking lot just north of the building which is free.  It is less than the one block walk.

Summary
