Tea Party - Washington State Park - April 18th

There will be a Tea Party held at the Washington State Park on Saturday April 18th from 1 to 3 pm at the General Greene Pavillion.

Whitewater release on Tohikon Creek March 15-16

Water will be released from Lake Nockamixon into Tohickon Creek on March 15 and 16. This should provide some class 3 and 4 rapids. So, get your surfboard... ooops, wrong blog.. Get you whitewater craft, safety gear and get ready for some fun

Fall Foliage in Bucks County

The leaves are starting to turn their fall colors. While we are not anywhere near a full fledged display, there is some color to be seen.

While it's nice to be able to go to the mountains for a weekend, a lot of us just don't have the time. You can experience the fall colors with a day trip in Bucks County.

Some suggestions are:

• Take River Road (route 32) north from New Hope up to about Upper Black Eddy. There are places where you can pull over near the canal.
• Visit one of the Bucks County Parks (State or County). The parks with lakes can be especially beautiful with the fall foliage.
• Visit the town of New Hope or Peddler's Village in Lahaska when the foliage is in full color.
• Get a good map or trust your GPS and take a leisurely ride through the back roads, perhaps checking out some of the covered bridges in the area.
• Take a train ride from New Hope.

Wine and Polo at Tinicum - Sept 29th, 2007 1-4 pm

The Tinicum Polo Club will be hosting a Wine and Polo Event on Saturday, September 29th, 2007 from 1 to 4 PM. Proceeds support Land Preservation in Bucks County.

Pooches and Polo at Tinicum Polo - Sat Sept 22 2007

A dog show and polo match at the beautiful Tinicum Park.





The Tinicum Polo Club will be hosting this event on Saturday, Sept 22, 2007. If you've never been to a polo match, it's a lot of fun for the whole family. If you have been to one of the matches, you already knew that.

Polo is a fast paced, intruiging game that requires superb athletic and equestrian skills.

The pooch show promises to be a lot of fun with categories such as least obedient, and best vocal performance. At the end of the day, there will be a pet parade. Gates open at 1pm. There is an admission charge but there will be a complimentary buffet courtesy of the Willow Grove Great Britains Automotive Group.

Sept 15 2007- Expo at the Silver Lake Nature Center

The Silver Lake Nature Center in Bristol Pa will be holding an Experience Nature expo on September 15th from 11am to 5 pm.

Events include: Music, Children's activities, raptor demonstrations, envioronmental awareness, nature walks and a whole lot more. You can even learn about fly fishing and fly tying.

Native American POWWOW at the Churchville Nature Center - Sat-Sun July 28-29

The Churchville Nature Center will be hosting a Native American Powwow with dancing, crafts and food.

Tinicum Polo Match and MG/Mini Cooper car show Sat July 21

Tinicum Park Polo will be holding a polo tournament along with an MG/Mini Cooper car show. The events will be held at the polo grounds in Tinicum Park on Route 32.

You can enter your vehicle in the car show at no additional charge.

Washington Crossing State Park Closing July 9th 2007 till ???

The Washington Crossing State Park will be closing on July 9th 2007 for an indefinite period of time due to budget issues:

ALERT: As of Monday, July 9, 2007, Washington Crossing Historic Park will be closed to the public until further notice due to a budget impasse and furloughing of state workers.

The Park is looking for actors to portray General Washington. Of course, that will be on hold until the budget is resolved

Perhaps old George and the boys should take the Durham boats up the Susquehanna to Harrisburg and deal with the mercenaries running Pennsylvania. Of course, they folks in the Capitol don't have the cool hats the Hessians had.
