Uhlerstown Covered Bridge

The Uhlerstown Covered Bridge takes Uhlerstown Hill Road over the Delaware Canal near Lock 18. The bridge is in a picturesque location in that as you approach from River Road, there is a small mountain behind the bridge. There are some old buildings in the immediate vicinity of the bridge.

If you park near the bridge, look for a path just east of the bridge leading to the towpath. That will allow you to see the sides of the bridge from a better vantage point.

Getting there: Take Route 32, River Road to Uhlerstown. Uhlerstown Hill Road is just south of the Bridge at Bridge Street which would take you to Frenchtown, New Jersey. Head west on Uhlerstown Hill Road for about 1000 feet and you should come to the bridge. There are no parking spots although you might be able to stop temporarily just west of the bridge. You could also try parking in Tinicum Park and walk about a mile north along the canal towpath to the bridge.
