We visited the Washington Crossing Inn for Brunch.
Check Kiki's review for a list of their offerings.
They have a parking lot with free parking. If you don't like
smoke you want to avoid the dining area immediately adjacent to the bar.
The buffet is set up in the 'Library'. The Hearth Room had a gas log
fireplace with adds to the atmosphere. My favorites were the poached
eggs, hearty french toast and salmon.
We ate in the enclosed porch which is also known as the
Covered Bridge Room. The walls are done in murals of Bucks County Scenes.
The staff was very accommodating. They have a variety
of rooms available for meetings and events.
You can walk to the Washington Crossing State Park across
the street. There is a huge statue of Washington Crossing the Delaware on
the Route 32 side of the Inn. |
The Washington Crossing Inn is a beautiful white colonial building close to
the Delaware River. Sunday Brunch gives you varied choices such as poached
salmon, chicken with mushrooms, string beans with almonds, pasta with tomato
sauce, eggs benedict, french toast, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, blintzes,
roast beef, omelet station.
Desserts include homemade cookies, brownies, raspberry layer cake, and
carrot cake.
The hours of brunch are 10 to 2. The enclosed porch is a very bight and
cheery ding room with murals of covered bridges and various scenes from the
countryside.
After brunch, take a stroll down the path through Washington Crossing
Historical Park, past the colonial homes that line the Delaware. The
colonial simplicity is peaceful and serene. |
